COMPANY HISTORY
1937 - OPENING OF BÜSCHLEN BICYCLE AND HARDWARE DEALER
In 1937, Adolf Büschlen-Meyer (born 1910) built the residential and commercial building at Schlegelistrasse 3 in Adelboden and opened his bicycle and hardware store in the same year.
Two years earlier he had started repairing his bike in an old Spycher in the Schlegeli.
In addition to his bicycle and hardware store, he later ran a rat trap and toy factory. The wooden toys were very popular. He was able to employ several temporary employees.
In the 1950s he sold the first Triumph and Java motorcycles.
From 1960 his eldest son, Adolf Büschlen-Müller (born 1940), worked in the company as a trained motorcycle mechanic. At that time they built up a taxi and car business.
1969 - TUFT GARAGE (2ND GENERATION)
In 1969 Adolf Büschlen-Müller took over the two-wheeler business with garage and car operation.
His younger brother Peter ran the hardware store with his wife Vroni from 1973 until 1992, after which the hardware store was dissolved.
2000 - TUFT GARAGE (3RD GENERATION)
In January 2000, Adolf Büschlen-Müller handed the business over to his son Andreas. Adolf initially supported Andreas and Beatrice in the business.
The 3rd generation of the Büschlen family (Andreas + Beatrice Büschlen-Ryter) has concentrated on the two-wheeler industry with various brand representations including accessories and clothing.
In 2007 we celebrated our 70th anniversary and changed the business name Büschlen Garage to Büschlen Bikesport & More.
We have specialized in bicycles/bikes since 2014. The demand for bicycles grew steadily, which is why we no longer worked with motorcycles, mopeds, lawn mowers, etc. from that point on.
The e-bike business has been growing steadily since 2011. We were already working with a number of e-bike brands until we started working with Haibike in 2010.
Even today, Haibike is our most attractive
E bike brand. We now also sell other brands from the Haibike Group in our shop.
Since 2017, the "E-Bike your Life Festival" has been taking place in Adelboden annually, which we also helped organize. With the active support of our team, brand representatives and family, the exhibitions have always been a great success.
Our 4th generation has been working in the company since 2019.
